in a certain scientific study - a group of children were asked to draw what they saw in dreams. 80% drew fluffy animals of various sorts. (hence the popularity of such TV shows among kids like pokemon, teletubbies, barney [ugh!]). Kids dream about animals. Shamans from scandanavia to siberia to the sahara to south australia invoke animal guides to help them navigate the ethers of absolute time when in a trance. Perhaps power animals are there to help find answers. Pop culture to my knowledge has touched on power animals like the white rabbit..

so i suppose we can call forward any animal with special powers to help us in some quests. i guess that some people have specific ones as well.
